Are Eye Floaters And Eye Pain Dangerous?

A black dot that looks like a period or a comma in the eye can be especially troublesome particularly when there is a sudden burst or shower of lights in your vision. Stringy, worm like lines moving in your vision may be benign, but if you start to notice flashes or streaks of light, it could be a much more serious matter like a retinal hole, or detachment.

Big black stringy eye floaters that are impossible to ignore can be very difficult to read or drive with when they drift into the center of your vision. Diagnosing and then repairing a tear in the retina in a short period of time is critical to you not losing vision.
